It is now Spring 2010, A-TOM-MIK will be entering year #9 of business, we have grown to roughly 30 Pro Staff members presently. As I sit here and reflect on why we are still in business and going strong, one reason remains and that is our great field of Pro Staffers, thanks again guys, I owe you the world. I would also like to mention this: We now receive a boat-load of requests a year to be an A-TOM-MIK Pro Staffer, one thing I like to pride myself with is the fact most of our staff we currently have never asked to be on our Pro Staff. Odd huh (: but true !! I am now 42 years old, I had one small goal back in 2001 and that was to build a name a few rec anglers would recognize here and there.... Goal accomplished !!!! What would any of us do without great friends?
Lil Flipper Charters:
*** Jill and Donny Rufo are no longer with us here in Oswego, they have moved on to new interests outside of Oswego County. Everyone who knew the Rufo's during their 20+ year stay in Oswego will surely miss their welcoming personalities. If ever you may meet a more friendly pair of fisherman who lived our Lake Ontario fishery, please let us know, they were one of a kind. I remember my 2 childrens first experience on the big water ("Tom" & "Mik") aboard the "Lil Flipper", at ages 4 and 5, Jill and Donny took us out every year on lil Tommy's B-day, these are experiences that will never be forgotten. Thanks Jill and Donny for many years of entertainment and helping with our small business by representing us, you are a big part of the reason why we are still here today, you will always be remembered!! ***
The "A-TOM-MIK" name stands for my son Tommy ("TOM") and my daughter Mikayla ("MIK") with the ("A") from our last name being "Allen".
A Pro Staff is meant to be many things, more so now days than ever a Pro Staff is what it takes for longevity in the business. As manufacturers come and go the ones you see sticking around are certainly doing something right. Making a go of it now days in one of the hardest fields to conquer, the tackle trade, does not come easy and certainly does not come without help.
The A-TOM-MIK Pro Staff consists of "Seasoned Salts" and "Internet Guru's", "Tourney Anglers" and "Weekend Warriors" and also some of the "Young Guns" of the future! To be associated with each is what it takes we feel to make the grade in the industry of today. Our "Team Players" all share a common passion for the products we are building. By no means are there endless supplies of free product being distributed around, in many cases our guys are purchasing right off the shelf. The popular A-TOM-MIK name has grown on this passion, and on serious friendships that have come together to build a superior product. What we share are like interests in great lakes angling, helping one another by creating the next best thing. Ultimately putting fish (Kings) in the boat for clientele, tourney's and for weekend fun!
Of course you, "The Great Lakes Angler" are also the ones reaping the reward of the hard work coming together from A-TOM-MIK !! Thanks to our great team of Pro Staffers, A-TOM-MIK is still here today, right on top of the ball and ready to create that next slice of bread.
Thanks guys for helping fulfill our dream.............

Some of that success is seen in past LOC derby finishes and top 10 Pro-Am finishes, with the 2007 Orleans Pro-Am resulting in a win with the help of an A-TOM-MIK hammer fly. Captain Rick runs a part time charter business where he prides himself on following the HUGE school of Salmon as the migrate from their Spring haunts in the Western Basin to their final destination in the Eastern Basin. Del Casterline and Tourney Team Liquid Plumber, out of Oswego/Mexico have had their time on the stage after many high placings in tourney style events across the south shore of Lake Ontario. Del, John and team also know what it's like to have that 1st place King in our ever popular LOC derby as well. Weekend warriors who are very serious about their sport of choice and who love to compete pretty much sums it up for the Liquid Plumber team. Del loves running his A-TOM-MIK flies and copper lines and makes no bones about telling us his favorite go-to items weekly after visits to the big pond. We wish Del the best of luck as he chases Team Screamer and others down throughout 2009. Much needed input from these top guys is a great asset to the future of our product.
Team Pressman, With plenty of years rigging under their belts on the Great Lakes, Team Pressman consisting of Deryk "BigD" Hastie, Steve "Pressman" Fudge and Chris "Jammer" Vanrooy, the guys are stoked to join the A-TOM-MIK family. Deryk, Steve and Chris have been loyal followers of the A-TOM-MIK line ever since they discovered it years ago. They continue to always find a place for this solid product in their spread whether they are goofing around on a nice sunny day or fishing what they call "Thee Adrenaline High" of a competitive tournament. They may fish in one of the smallest boats in the field but their hearts are big and they are always trying to improve their skills and can be seen wherever there are fish to be caught!!! The three buddies show how well they have gelled by having a very successful first season as a team in 2009 by winning the inaugural Feed the Fry Tournament, hoisting the trophy at the 2009 TIGHT-LINES event and a top 5 and 11th finish in the KOTL series. Success is no stranger to this team as in recent years the boys have combined to add Six Salmon Master $500 a day wins, 1st and 3rd finishes in St Kitts Members derbies and over $5000 in bounty fishing events and many other respectable Scotty/KOTL tournament finishes. Individually Steve and Chris have placed 4th and 8th respectively in the Toronto Sun Derby and Deryk, as part of Team Offshore took, down the 2005 Summer Scotty. So don't be shy to say hello to these eager anglers they are always willing to lend a tip and just love to have fun!
Jordan De Jong, Port Credit, Ontario Canada Fin-natic Sport Fishing. After years of recreational fishing and first mating on various charters, Captain Jordan De Jong started on his own in 2006. One of the first things he did was make sure he loaded up on the A-TOM-MIK product. After many successes Jordan was convinced these products were well worth getting behind. When Jordan isn't chartering he is usually pounding the pond on his own looking for the next 40 pounder. Young, energetic and passionate he is always looking to learn and study habits of Lake Ontario Kings. Definatley the next generation of great lakes enthusiasts in the making !!
Lone Wolf Sportfishing, Chartering the waters surrounding the Port of Wilson, NY. Specializing in limits of trophy size King Salmon. Growing up on the shores of Lake Ontario, Captain Dan Evans was taught the ways of putting titan matures in the net at an early age by his father. Spending every chance he could out on the water, he began first mating for local charters in his teens. Now his passion for sportfishing has become his career, completing his first year running trips as captain of the Lone Wolf in 2008. Captain Dan credits much of his success to A-TOM-MIK flies, claiming over 80% of the Kings put on the deck this past season and a half dozen that made the LOC board. The Lone Wolf Crew looks anxiously ahead to the 2010 season of charters, tourneys, and fishing the KOTL series. One thing is for sure A-TOM-MIK flies will be at the end of the line! We also will be running drift trips on the lower Niagara and officering guide trips on the west end tribs and Lake Erie. Many Niagara Steelies will be enjoyed off our newly equipped Lund 19 Pro V

Team Two Fish Karl Chmilnitzky, Wayne Hazelwood and son Kyle hail from Caledon, Ontario Canada and are some fierce tournament anglers competing in all major Canadian and U.S. events. The KOTL is their favorite, finishing in several top ten positions with two salmon masters wins, and also a St. Catherine's fish and game win. Consistency is the key to success Karl feels in competitive salmon fishing on Lady O, they placed a solid 5th overall in the 2009 KOTL series. The best way to be consistent is with the best equipment like A-TOM-MIK flies the team states, this constantly producing big king catch programs. Note from A-TOM-MIK: The setting was later August, Oswego NY 2009, 7 miles from Oswego Harbor, it was a rough 2nd day of the 2009 KOTL Scotty, in Oswego, with only a few boats working some lone water west of port, Team A-TOM-MIK kept witnessing this vessel when our plot lines crossed, never realizing this sole Canadian vessel had found a small piece of the promise land that Team A-TOM-MIK had fished for several weeks. Come time to weigh-in we realized who that Canadian vessel was captained by, Karl: Team Two Fish !!! Wow, this dude from across the lake was tapping my home waters, even dragged his vessel right to the front door of my Oswego home to get a bit of A-TOM-MIK product. We feel well presented by Karl and team !!!!

A very knowledgeable Captain who concentrates on your desires for capturing Great Lakes gamefish. (
Vince Pierleoni and Thrillseeker Sportfishing, Captain Vince and crew from Newfane, NY, chartering out of the Oak have led the way in winning everything on Lake Ontario at one point or another. More wins in the coveted Lake Ontario Pro/Am team events and over-all Lake Ontario Challenge Cup than anybody in the business. If it's a Canadian based tournament competing against our North Shore friends Vince has ended up on top, if it's a derby style event or a weekend 1 day shootout Vince and Crew has won it. Most definitely the most feared group of anglers out there when competing on Lake Ontario. We are very happy to have Team Thrilseeker behind the A-TOM-MIK product and periodically calling in info to us to better our product !! Congrats on yet another outstanding season throughout 2008 and good luck to this crew from 2009 and beyond. You will be watched by many competitive anglers as you have been for many years !!!

Captain Hoover runs a gorgeous 27' Proline fully rigged with the latest and greatest equipment. Salmon fishing changed for us a few years back when we stumbled across Tom's A-TOM-MIK Trolling Flies, the rest has been history. "We have had these flies aboard ever since that moment helping us to produce limits of Kings for our clients time and time again".

Between 2006 and 2009 alone, the V.Q. Fishing Team recorded over 30 top 10 finishes including several first place finishes and overall big fish awards.
Pete loves to fish and tries to continually improve his skills as an angler on Lake Erie and Ontario. He says "having to make the transition back and forth from Lake Erie to Ontario during the season is difficult while trying to remain competitive in the tournaments. Winning is flat out tough for us on Lake Ontario! However, one of our goals is to have you looking over your shoulder once in a while wondering where were at."
Tom: "Part of the Team's success lies in surrounding our self with excellent products and committed individuals. I believe we found both with A-TOM-MIK. We're glad to be part of your team"

The first A-TOM-MIK's ever tested were ran off the "BV Express"
Team Big Fin, fishing out of Oswego, NY on Lake Ontario, Gene & Gene Delicate are a pair of great lakes anglers to be reckoned with. Father and son and honest "Fly Guys" who are in their element when they have a spread of flies out on every rigger, core, copper and wire line. These guys have brought new meanings to the term "Running flies", may no Chinook feel safe if the cross hairs are set on you while the Gene's are in town aboard The Big Fin or The Sea Devil. Often fishing with Brian Castle on Brian's beautiful 33' Tiara and Ace of Ace Charters, and living the true definition of weekend warriors. The Big Fin boys have found a home here with their A-TOM-MIK following and we are glad to have them !!! The namesake Big Fin fly #106 was made for the Gene's and has been the sequel to the ongoing success story that all locals know of these anglers. A-TOM-MIK looks forward to working with talent like this to maintain our successes in the fly business.
Team Screamer, frequenting Fair Haven NY in the past, but now docked at Oswego Marina fishing with many of the the "Big Guns" of the Eastern Basin. Dave and Joe continue to lead the way for many tourney anglers in various tourney style events along the Southern Lake Ontario shorelines, namely the Lake Ontario Pro/Ams. Team Screamer has won more events in Pro/Ams am division than any other names in the record books, also currently holding the coveted "Champions of the Lake" cup, another feat done more than once. The Fair Haven Challenge has also been "owned" by Team Screamer 3 years in a row. Dedication is an understatement when it boils down to competitive play while chasing Lake Ontario King Salmon and placing highest on the list among a very trying field of participants. With A-TOM-MIK brand products in the arsenal for Screamer the confidence level remains very high.

Fishing out of the Oswego Marina his enthusiasm for charter fishing remains high. His dedication to the sport fishery is well known among his peers. His belief is simple, “If you are going to take, you must be willing to give back!".
Eric Marcinkowski & Team Striker Sportfishing, Eric Marcinkowski and Team Striker from Syracuse NY are yet another team to watch while visiting the scene of any Lake Ontario tourney style event. Eric has been on teams that have won back to back King of The Lake titles in 2007 and 2008, more wins to list than we have room for, another one of them names that is an automatic reminder of teams normally placing on top. Eric purchased a 10 meter Trojan for more tourney outings in 2009 and will also join the many looking to take down a "King of The Lake" title, but for Eric it will be the chance at an unprecedented 3 in a row "King of The Lake" title's for 2009. A-TOM-MIK has found another home aboard Striker to maintain that ut-most posture and presents in a competitive field of players and lure manufacturers. Eric is an aggressive player who uses the skills of the trade to compete with the best anglers leaving most at a disadvantage before they leave the dock. This strength also flows into input coming into us as we converse with Eric looking for the next best thing. Our glow Hammer fly at times is ran off the back of the Trojan in 4 or 5 positions !!! Good Luck Eric with "King of The Lake" #3, we wish you the best bud !!!!
