A-TOM-MIK Trolling Flies

A-TOM-MIK update for the Oswego Pro/Am 2005
7/10/05

Day 1, what an awesome event this year on July 8th and 9th 2005. Our leg of the "Lake Ontario Salmon and Trout Team Tournament" concluded with 4 teams out of the top 10 Pro Division winners claiming success in part coming from our products. Team TK with Captains Bob and Tom along with Captain/River Guide Kevin Davis placing 2nd after the first day with 242 points. 3rd place after day 1 was Team Prime Time/A-TOM-MIK with 237 points and 5th place Team Sea Devil with Captain Don Rufo with some new team members for this event. Most running a fly program along with spoons (Michigan Stingers) and having their way with our Lake Ontario silvers in rather large numbers.
Day 2 was huge and the day of the comeback for many of the teams sticking with their fly programs. Team TK rounded out the top 10 and a little upset at the fact they dropped quite a few majors (Adult Salmon) some right at the back of the boat. Cold Steel/A-TOM-MIK came to the scales with one of the largest takes on day 2 with 238 points, this moved Capt. Tom Burke, Capt. Andy Bliss and regular team mate Scott Lewis up 15 places to finish in the 7th spot (I never thought they were going to quit pulling silver fish out of that cooler). Team Prime Time/A-TOM-MIK had 192 points on day 2 and was good enough for a final 3rd place spot, this team has confidence unparalleled by most, enduring some dry spells but sticking with the original game plan to fill that cooler full of silver, which they did. A team member from Team Prime Time handed me one of their 3rd place trophy's and said "Thanks". What a gesture, thanks so much guys!!! Team Sea Devil and Captain Don Rufo created a new team for this leg and racked up the points for the 2nd position. Team Sea Devil claimed 18 silver fish out of the total 21 fish take came on our flies, #23 Green Crinkle being the favorite.
Team Screwy Louie's Sport Shop with Captain Brendon Shambo and close friend of mine Ray Denny put it together on day 2 for 206 points, Ray shook his head and told me they had all the adult silvers they wanted during prefish and a hell of a catch on day 2 as well, they just lost them on the first day of the event, sorry Ray, but great comeback buddy (Ray use to always kick my butt during the early 90's while walleye fishing together) Amateur Team Appalachian Big Lake Tackle had a great showing on day one with 150 points, day 2 was a day of the escaping fish for Bob like many others. Bob told me he was working some water all to himself and had flies #10 and #22 firing pretty steady, good for 3rd after day 1. Bob E mailed me and I quote, "We decided to run the Cold Steel program, Go Big or Go Home", well Bob, you and Cold Steel both had a huge day so I guess you guys do think alike, great job!!!
Friends of ours I would like to thank not mentioned above: Team 120 Blackjaw Bandit, Team 126 Team Buffa, Team 127 Team Rebel, Team 142 Dixie Dandy, Team 111 Bad Guys, Team 115 Suriki Charters, Team 220 Hot Rod, Team 205 More Marvelous, and Team 213 Horst Play (Robbie had a nice catch on day 2) if I forgot any I apologize.
