I've been fishing the Sun Salmon Derby for the last 5 years and always used &*^&%&^%^&'s. This year one or two fish a day is all I could do. Just when I was ready to throw in the towel I met Scotty Richardson. What a SUPER guy
he is!. He set me up with some A-TOM-MIK Tournament
Series cut bait rigs and even supplied the bait!!!

The next morning my buddy and I were catching fish! The enclosed picture represents three hours of fishing. Five kings all over 23lbs. You have a great embassideur fishing out of Port Darlington and I sure am lucky I met him.

I will be placing orders and sending your link to all my fishing buddies. Thanks Tom for having Scott on your pro team and thanks again Scott for sharing your gear and knowledge. You made my trip this year!!!

Thanks Matt for running our product and spreading the word in Ontario Canada for many years now. Matt and son Eric also won the 2nd annual 2006 Tightlines Shoot-out and claimed $9000.00, Matt and Eric claimed our tourney series flies played the key role in landing over 30lbs more than the 2nd place finisher. Awesome work men !!!!

Team Screamer/A-TOM-MIK places 1st in the Orleans County Lake Ontario Team Pro/Am Tournament. This team on the amateur side is one tough team to beat, when it comes to pulling Kings on our flies they excel on a consistent basis.

Pro Staffer Geoff Hoover from Ontario Canada with the largest King Salmon taken from the 2007 Summer Scotty, The King hit a prototype fly and tipped the scales at 28.70. Nice catch Geoff, one Salmon to remember for sure !!!!!!!!!

A-TOM-MIK team members "Naj" from Team Screamer and "Big Fin Gene" on a Niagara Bar outing during the Spring LOC 2007. Team Screamer and Big Fin paired up on the 31' Baja to boat well over 100 Kings on their outings using our flies, some of their best were our #22 Powder Blue, #41 Ultra Green Glow and #97 Mirage. Copper set-ups were on fire, many doubles and triples came to life during the teams hunt for a LOC winning fish. No winner this time but they did end up with a top 5 Salmon and a total of 4 others all in the standings at one time. Great job men, those are some serious numbers anywhere on the great lakes !!!!

June 11, 2007 charter trip aboard "Wild Reels" with Captain Geoff Hoover and a 3 boat trip and a crew of 15, our boat took the most and biggest fish by a landslide thanks to your flies! The Ultra Glow Blue behind a chrome Spin Doctor was on fire also Skeins Machine fly behind a green Spin Doctor took a lot of fish! Those combos were ran on the wire divers. Runners up was the Lil Boy Blue and #55 Purple Passion which were higher up in the water column on core! The Hammer Fly and Dalmation Spin Doctor did damage 88' down pulling some nice fish from the depths on the riggers. Our bite has definitely turned onto a fly bite over here in Canada , your flies simpley shine! One combo took 6 fish in a row one after another and the fly was still like new!!!

2007 Fall LOC Derby

Shane Zimmerman pictured with his LOC placing King passed on in his sleep due to an unknown cause on 9/15/2007. Shane couldn't be more proud of his derby King, it meant the most. For a fellow angler to fall who shared the love that each of us can relate to from the big lake, will mean a true loss to the fishery. We are an intense breed that share the same desires, to lose one of us will hit home for many. Shane and dad Lester Zimmerman "Zip-N-Zim", were known by most, they fished out of Fair Haven and also frequented the Pro/Am scene. Shane would always be seen trying to help an angler out or sharing a story, he had his fellow anglers he looked up to as most of us do, even giving one of them, "Big Fin Gene" a blue spinnie, and said "Here, this is what we took our LOC King on!!" He would walk around with a smirk on his face if he felt he helped you out in any way to land your next King. Screamer Dave said Shane was the kind of guy who would give you his last buck, always known as one of the true nice guys of the angling crowd.

We will miss you Shane, you are now among us along with the fish gods come lakeside, your memory will live on and we look forward to hearing from you on our next outing chasing our Lake Ontario Kings.

2008 Niagara Pro/Am Winner Pro "Team Cold Steel/A-TOM-MIK/Fat Nancy's"

Limit catches were achieved by many competitors but selective targeting of larger Kings at the 2008 Niagara Pro/Am made for a tough event to weigh that "large box" each day. Our team worked together great and made for the best possible outcome at the expertise of Captain's Tom and Andy, key decision making, rod handling and an ultimate "team" effort was rewarded by a win. Our team modo "Go Big or Go Home" couldn't be further from the truth, very trying at times working limited spreads worked on the nerves, but blessed with an excellent fishery made for that key decision making. We are very happy as a team and are in hopes at another chance of the coveted Lake Ontario cup to call "ours" for the first time ever.

Thanks to the following: Shark Cannonballs, we lost 1 shark and were glad to have a spare supplied by "Sharkman" Ed, sharks were accounting for that early morning rigger bite each day. Some key Stinger Stingray spoons were firing each day in pre-fish and helped us find some fish. Dreamweaver's Spin Doctors matched with our Tourney Flies were ran almost exclusively during tourney hours, thanks to Shane for the rush shipments the last 2 season's to help us out. The new Scotty riggers worked flawlessly on the Cold Steel and man are they fast. AFW stainless wire and A-TOM-MIK 45# copper were handled easily by a fresh supply of Tekota rods & reels in 600 LC, 700 and 800's, supplied from Shimano..... Sufix, Gamma, Owner, Sampo, Black's releases and Yeti coolers (Supplied by Fat Nancy's), nothing but the best !!! ............. Rob at Fat Nancy's Tackle Shop in Pulaski and A-TOM-MIK also supplied new Team T's, long sleeves, hoodies and also new OHO hats, shirts and shorts, thanks to Andy and Rob for the new designs, they looked great. Thanks to Gustin from Maui Jim for the shades and to Patrick "Red" Thayer Redline Sportfishing (and Whoopie) for driving up from Vermont to observe for us and help out getting everyone around. The Wilson Marina and Kevin Jerge offered a great stay, Kevin's enthusiasm towards the betterment of the Pro/Am was very generous and the hospitality was second to none, thanks to Mike Lis as well for the help !! The Pro/Am was professionally ran by staff and we will certainly be back next year. Thanks to the many upon many competitive anglers and close friends who offered us congrats on our finish, as a team we look forward to these events year round, we prepare continually and look oh so forward to the competition of the best anglers roaming the western end of Lake Ontario. It was a pleasure.........

Thanks for the KING Tom!!!

Use to fish Lake Huron, but as the fishing is terrible up there I'm now a lake O guy. My buddy and I headed out after our charter and boated this KING weighing in for the GOSD at 29.78lbs but got bumped off on the Thursday of week 2 (July 2008). Its my biggest King yet, but still haven't broke the 30+ mark. It came on a TG Fly and SD. Those flies sure are deadly!!!!!!

A-Tom-Mik Tom with Jordan (winner)

Tom,
I want you to know that I had my son Jordan (age 10), who was the winner of the 2008 Youth Shane Zimmerman Memorial Award at the LSRC read your write up on Shane you had posted on your site. I want him to know who Shane Zimmerman is and not just "some name on a nice plaque". I hope as my son grows as a fisherman and that he gains the great attributes that Shane possesed.

Thanks so much for all that you do to keep our great fishery alive. You have certainly done your share.

Tight lines and full coolers.

Brad and Jordan Wyard
