Seaguar Fluorocarbon Leader Material |
A great name in fluorocarbon leader material, the same leader we use here at A-TOM-MIK in our premium tourney line. We have tested several others and feel Seaguar will out-perform the rest and satisfy your needs for great lakes rigging's.

Power Pro Microfilament |
A great "backer" for running copper lines on the great lakes. 50# Power Pro is a very popular choice for rigging with copper applications, great Albright knot strength in a no stretch backer. 300 yds of 50 lb test is the same diameter as a 12# monofilament, winds nicely and lasts longer than mono and other braid lines.

Penn Reels/rigged w/copper |
A-TOM-MIK will be rigging Penn Reels with copper starting for the 2007 season. Penn's 330, 340 and 345 GTi series levelwind's are a great choice for copper applications. Completely rigged and ready for action, all you need to do is tie on a quality swivel. Please keep in mind the size of Lake Ontario's King Salmon, we rig each set-up with a minimum of 300 yds of 50# Power Pro backer, many anglers who are new to the copper scene (including myself in the spring of 2006') have been "spooled" during 2005-2006' running less amounts of backing, we have serious Salmon in our waters, keep this in mind !!!!

Daiwa Saltist/rigged w/ copper |
Now for 2010 Daiwa is offering a copper loaded reel with a gear ratio of 6.4:1. Quite a few A-TOM-MIK Pro Staff ran these throughout 2009 with very good luck. These reels are large enough to hold 300' of our .037 45# copper. We are excited about this reel after the lower gear ratio reels have coined copper use as rather cumbersome. That has now changed and for the many that choose to run our copper this new addition is a welcoming sight !!

Bulk Wire |
Bulk Wire AFW 7 strand stainless wire, the same wire many top names use in the Eastern Basin. Hat Trick Charters, The Cold Steel Tourney Team, Big Fin and Sea Devil to name a few, along with us on the "Little Whip" have used this wire for 4 to 5 years now with great success. Pliable and ultra limp, available in 20 lb. and 30 lb., "Bright" stainless color and "Camo" brown. 30 lb. is recommended for the beginning angler using wire lines for the first time, we love the 20 lb. but it is not as forgiving as the 30 lb., once you get a season under your belt we highly recommend the 20 lb. for added depth. Shark Trolling Weights |
A-TOM-MIK was part of the Shark weights introduction to the Eastern Basin of Lake Ontario, they intimidated the market like a storm !!!! Many top tourney teams ever since have relied on the Shark weight as a huge part of their arsenal !! We recommend any suitable release that can be attached to the cable just above the Shark. (We use blacks) This will enable the Shark to perform the way it was designed; the Shark MUST BE ABLE TO PIVOT ON ITS AXIS so it can point its nose into the current just like a weather vane. Any release device attached to the tail of the Shark including Off Shore Releases or rubber bands will cause the Shark to mis-track! When you tighten up your line to put the bow in the rod, this applies tension directly to the tail causing it to lift straight up. The Shark will be traveling along doing a headstand. It gets worse; attached to two points, the Shark essentially becomes a fixed rudder not able to pivot. It will swing out wildly when a current hits it from the side. We discovered this when we fixed a video camera on the Shark itself as opposed to the lure. Click here to see diagram (releases image)
