A-TOM-MIK Trolling Flies was started in the fall of 2001. The owner, Tom Allen, was part of the winning 2001 Pro Am, Professional Division, Team Tournament with "Cold Steel" earlier that year. Ideas of what won that tournament and input from Oswego Salmon Shop owner, Larry Muroski, and Charter Captain, Randy McCoy, all played a part to start it off.
