Whole Bait Twinkie Style Meat Rigs 2010 brings us a new meat rig on the market with some history attached: The original Twinkie Style meat rig first introduced to our Eastern Basin was manufactured by a small bait shop in Port Ontario, NY. Ginny and George Metzler first designed that rig. As the years passed A-TOM-MIK designed and coined the phrase 3-Fly-Rig back in 2002, from that point till present every manufacturer known to the great lakes scene has made similar rigs. With the scare of VHS, Rhys Davis cut bait strips were pretty much banned due to restrictions governing the sale of this type bait. Whole bait however is still in use and quite popular to those anglers who never let go of that proven art of running bait. With the insurgence of popularity of running bait throughout the mid 2000's and the feeling of a certain lack of a superior head felt by Capt. John King, he built his own superior head that would accommodate both strips and whole bait. With a few phone calls and E mails from yours truly to the Metzlers and John King I have had a superior Twinkie style meat rig built for those anglers still willing to practice the proven art of pulling big Kings with bait. Running whole baits are what these new rigs are built for.
BEST OF LUCK FROM A-TOM-MIK !!! *Rigs are built with a single over-sized Stinger Owner ST-41 Black Nickel Treble, taped teasers, bead chain and John King Super Magnum Meat Heads with 50# Line. (please click on image for a larger view)
